Our Jefferson Valley Pharmacy Staff
Daniel Becker graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences in 1994. He worked for several independent pharmacies before venturing out on his own when Jefferson Valley Pharmacy opened its doors on February 3rd, 2003. The help of loyal staff and countless hours of dedication have made Jefferson Valley Pharmacy what it is today, a pharmacy that is dedicated to its patients by offering excellent customer service and not afraid to go above and beyond to treat everyone like they are our “only” patient. As we continue to grow, it is our goal to maintain that “Mom & Pop” feel while implementing the latest technologies to continually improve patient care.
Alan is our elder statesman, “the old guy” and has practiced pharmacy for over 32 years! After graduating from St. John’s University with a BS in Pharmacy some of his experience has come from Eisenberg’s Pharmacy (Brooklyn NY), Rite-Aid Pharmacy (Hoboken & Lyndhurst NJ), Robert Jacobson’s Surgical Pharmacy (Yonkers NY), Westchester Medical Center (Valhalla NY), owner of Armonk Pharmacy (Armonk NY), CVS Pharmacy (Eastchester & Fishkill NY), Cross River Pharmacy & Compounding Center (Cross River NY) & now Jefferson Valley Pharmacy. Alan brings a diverse knowledge of surgical supplies, hospital pharmacy with I.V. experience, chain pharmacy, human & veterinary compounding, store ownership and community based pharmacy practice. Pharmacy runs in his family as his wife, brother-in-law, and 2 sister-in-laws are all pharmacists! Alan has been a local resident for over 30 years!
Linda has over 30 years of retail experience. She was the Operations Manager for Lord and Taylor in both Garden City and Florida. Until recently, she worked reception for a local chiropractor and at the same time managed a dry cleaning company nearby. After many years Linda has decided to join Dan's team to become the store's Front End Manager seeking a new challenge and the cool comfortable air conditioning of the Jefferson Valley Pharmacy! (We really think it was the air conditioning...) When not at the pharmacy she enjoys travel, spending time with her girls and trusted companion, Teddy. Look for her happy face when you come in!
Ita (pronounced eetah) Esposito
Irish charm imported to the USA. Ita is new to the Jefferson Valley Pharmacy but not new to the pharmacy world. She brings over ten years of experience with her. Born and raised in Ireland, Ita worked in a local pharmacy while still in school. After falling for a "Yank" while vacationing in New York City she crossed the pond. She enjoys all water sports, swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. The luck of the irish shined on us when we met her. Come in a meet our new Pharmacy Tech, our "pot of gold"!
Lex is a "Medicine Enthusiast". She received her NY State EMT certification at 18. Was bestowed a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience & Cognitive Psychology in only 3 years during her studies at Jacobs University in Bremen Germany. She is fluent in English & German. Her long term plan is to follow her calling as a Neurologist or Clinical Psychologist, but for now, she has made home here at the Jefferson Valley Pharmacy as our Pharmacy Technician. Ask her to do her imitation of "Beeker" from the Muppet Show!
Cathy has been on staff for over 5 years and enjoys helping patients. She is energetic as this is her second job, her first for a small firm doing “credit & collections”. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially “sleepovers” with the youngest. She is “ultimately” responsible for the store’s success as she is Dan’s mommy.
You will arrive and see Gino at the register assisting Linda and aiding clients in their "purchasing experience". He is a very hard working young man with aspirations of a Pharmaceutical Career. Gino loves traveling and going out and adventuring. At home you can find him binge -playing video games and may not leave his room except to obtain large snacks. You can recognize "Handsome Gino", as he sports the "Best Hair"! It seems to be a "Flow" competition with Mark.
Amelia is back and working in the front of the store helping Linda (Seems like everyone has helped Linda!) and still "bullied" by her bosses (LOL). She enjoys going out to local restaurants and spending time with her family. As the "Hair-Flow Contest" continues, Amelia insists her hair is better than her co-workers, Mark & Gino's combined!! But there is new competition with Vance!
Kevin is our "stealthy" employee. He is very unassuming and works quietly in the store. When he is not in the pharmacy you might catch him as another one of our "Medication Destination Specialists"! Kevin enjoys "chilling" at home playing video games with friends. Fear not, Kevin is not a couch potatoe! He and several friends make it a point to have a weekly football game. He is currently attending WCC studying Computer Science. It is his ambition to create video games and be a crucial cog in the game making process.
You can find Vance at the cash register assisting customers and learning from Gino. Vance goes to Lakeland High School and is hoping to pursue a career in engineering. In his free time, Vance enjoys playing video games, hanging out with his friends, binge watching "The Office" on Netflix, and avidly supporting his fantasy football team. Vance is also the newest addition to the "flow" competition with Gino, Amelia (retired) & Mark (retired).
You can easily find Dorinda at the front of the store assisting customers. Dorinda attends Mahopac High School and is hoping to pursue a career in nursing. She is a varsity athlete as she competes in track and plays volleyball. In her free time you can find her hanging out with friends, playing volleyball, or working out.
Staff members who have moved on... and what they are doing now.
George (RETIRED) was our “Junior Medication Destination Specialist”, trained by the “best”, that is to say Mike. Patients were welcomed warmly as they enter the store and immediately felt comfortable as he assisted them. George is attending Fordham University and will be studying Finance. In his free time he can still be found reading books on compounding his net worth as he aspires to be a millionaire by the age of 30!
Melynie (RETIRED) was our multi-talented cashier extraordinaire. She still has a smile on her face and is the most pleasant greeter in all the land. She is attending Pace University and is majoring in English & Communications. She was with our pharmacy for 3 years. Yayy! In her free time she likes to read and write short stories.
Chris (RETIRED) has chosen to follow his baseball aspirations. Pitching in high school he will have the attention of a number of college coaches. When he reaches university he will be studying to become an Occupational Therapist. We wish him all the best!
Alessandro "Alex" Pernoca
Alessandro (RETIRED) currently attends Concordia College School of Nursing. Alessandro’s goal is to become a Registered Nurse and then advance to Nurse Practitioner. Alessandro is a friendly, generous, and optimistic person. When Alessandro is not at the pharmacy you can find him at the gym or playing sports. Alessandro is very intrigued by the medical field allowing Alessandro to enjoy his pharmacy position and at the same time prepare Alessandro for nursing. If you find yourself in a hospital setting, keep your eyes peeled for Nurse Alex!
Lee (RETIRED) after starting from the beginning with Dan and the pharmacy, has chosen to follow a new course in his life. We wish him all the best! Keep looking for his curly red locks around town...
Adam (RETIRED) previously worked for a technology firm as a technology specialist. Adam was a "Medication Destination Specialist" (also mentored by Mike). Adam enjoys hanging out with friends, playing sports, cooking, and going for hikes. (We have yet to sample his cooking, we'll let you know!) Adam has persued a new position at a local pizza parlour. We wish him well in his future endeavors.
Mike (RETIRED) had been with us over 6 years as our “Senior Medication Destination Specialist”. He currently lives in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and is doing well in Sales. Mike is considered warm and friendly by everyone he meets. Living on his own he has become proficient in boiling water to make Pasta!
Amanda (RETIRED) attends Yorktown High school and plans to go to Westchester Community College for two years. After WCC she will transfer to SUNY Cortland and get a degree in Health Education. Her hobbies are being outdoors and cooking (especially boiling pasta and preparing guacamole!). In her spare time she is most likely seen with her identical twin sister. She is friendly, eager to work and make money. This blonde is always smiling and loves to help everyone. Amanda has selflessly moved on to provide delivery service in her Aunt's flower shop.
Marina (RETIRED) received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Plattsburgh and has received her Masters degree in Human Resource Management through Mercy College. In her free time she likes to enjoy the outdoors. She had been with us since 2012 as our pharmacy technician. Marina will be pursuing her dreams in HR Management and we wish her all the best...
Mark (RETIRED) attends Pace University as a Finance Major and is President of the Investment Management Club. Mark desires a career in hedge funds and wants to own his own business and retire early (like his cousin George). In his free time he enjoys cooking, family and playing golf and lacrosse with old friends. Since Mark has left us to pursue his Financial Empire, he has since clipped his "Samson-like Man-Bun" and is now sporting a more respectable hair style...
Brian (RETIRED) is a hard working senior at Mahopac High School earning good grades while playing baseball. In his leisure, he can be found with his girlfriend, playing baseball or working out. (Beside eating, what else does a growing boy need?) Brian plans to pursue a Mechanical Engineering Degree in college while continuing his baseball career. He is a man of few words, quiet & reserved. He is well liked by everyone who meets him! If you see him around town, he now sports a "Flow" of his own!
"Ness" (RETIRED) started at the JV Pharmacy in the beginning of 2017 and has loved every second of it! She divided her duties between helping Linda in store and driving as one of our "Medication Destination Specialists" (delivery person). She likes to explore new places with friends and watch Netflix, while eating everything in sight! She has shifted gears to GNC where she can apply the useful tools learned at our pharmacy.
